What to Do Two Months Before Your Disney Trip

Your Disney trip is almost here! Before you get swept up in the excitement make sure you check off some of the last things you’ll need to do before you head to the most magical place on earth. Here is a list of what to do two months before your Disney trip!

Fastpass+ Reservations

If you are staying at a Disney resort or even a Disney Springs Area resort, you are eligible to make your fastpass+ reservations 60 days in advance. Double check with your family about the rides and attractions that they must do. Then hope on your computer at 7:00 AM EST 60 days before your trip and get going! Don’t forget to check out tips to get the reservation you want plus the mistakes you don’t want to make.

Customize MagicBands

If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, your entire group will get complimentary MagicBands for your vacation! You can select a color for every person in your family. They can pick from red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, grey, or pink! You will use your MagicBands to access your room, fastpasses, purchase items, and more! As long as you customize in advance, you will receive your selected options in the mail before your trip. Be sure not to pack these in your checked luggage, but bring them in your carry on. Otherwise, you won’t have them to head straight to the park!

Flights

If you are driving you can clearly skip this step. However, if you haven’t booked your flights yet now is the time. There are quite a few sites that I swear by like Skyscanner (learn more about how to use Skyscanner here) or Airfarewatchdog. I never book any flight without checking both of those first. The second I know I want to go somewhere I set up alerts on both as well!

Online check-in

If you are staying at a Disney Resort don’t forget you can submit two room requests for the room you want! We like to pick the highest room and away from the pool if possible since we do not have kids. You can request a room location for a certain part of your resort if you want to be closer or further from a particular area. While you can do this online, I like to call to speak to someone. Since Pop Century was recently updated, I wanted to make sure we got a renovated room. Calling and talking with someone allows them to add notes that I cannot. This should increase your odds of getting the room you want.

Set up Magical Express

Once again, if you are driving you can skip this step. Now that you have your flights booked, be sure to set up your magical express transportation. This system spoils me everytime I stay at Disney and it might be one of the biggest factors in staying on property for me. I hate waiting for my luggage, but that could have more to do with Philly airport being terrible so I automatically go into a panic everytime I have to wait. ANYWAY. You can either call 407-939-1936 or simply visit online and enter your flight information.

Start looking at Memory Maker

The decision to purchase memory maker or not is a completely different subject. However, if you have decided you would like to add Memory Maker to your trip, you have to do it at least 3 days in advance to save $30. I suggest looking into this 2 months in advance simply because the decision is one a lot of families go back and forth on. Remember, if someone in your party has an annual pass you do not need to purchase Memory Maker. It is already included.

Final Payment

This technically doesn’t have to be done until a month out. However, if you haven’t already started paying your trip down, I suggest coming up with a plan now. Start getting any of your gift cards or extra payment options ready so you aren’t rushing on the last day. Also important to know you can still cancel your trip. A Disney vacation booked through Disney directly is completely refundable up until the day after the final payment is due. If for some reason you realize you can no longer afford to go or you have to postpone, it is nice to know you won’t lose money.
