27 Before 28

I have always loved the idea of New Year’s resolutions, or at least the thought of bettering oneself. I am baffled how people can really evaluate what they want to accomplish in the next year during the holidays. There is so much always going on that finding a moment to yourself for a something as simple as a relaxing bath sometimes seems unlikely. How can people really decide what is going to be most important to them in the upcoming 365 days?

Lucky for me my birthday is almost exactly 6 months after NYE. Summer is beginning, everyone wants to be outside, and people tend to be in a happier mood. This is when I like to really think; what have I done in my last year? Was it everything I had set out to do? What would I have done differently? These questions seem much more philosophical than they really need to be. I try to evaluate if I made the most out of my last 365 days. I like to plan. I love setting goals. I also love surprises and spontaneity. This is when I decide what will be on my “bucket list” for the next year. I don’t have a clear cut plan on when I will do these things, some I don’t even know how I will achieve them, but I have a list to check off and I love checking off boxes.

Below are the “27 things I would like to do before I turn 28.” Once an item is grayed out it means I have already accomplished my goal! You can click on each completed item to learn more about the experience, what I learned, and what I wish I had known before.

If you have suggestions of ideas or ways to accomplish some of these leave me a comment below!

    Hi Kelly-bells,
Your favorite uncle here (no! the other one).
There are things on your list I have done; no really and it’s not Aerial Yoga 🙂

Good luck and best wishes on your life’s journey
