Las Vegas High Roller Review: A Must Do In Sin City

When you think of Las Vegas the top two things most people think about are gambling and nightclubs. I have lived in Philadelphia for about ten years and Atlantic City is an hour away, so I have had enough experiences with both to know, I’m not a huge fan. We went to Las Vegas for a bachelorette party (although the real motivation was probably to see Magic Mike Live). Our friend group is more a bar crawl type, not so much the club type. Still, we were excited to go for a girls weekend. The bride had only two real requests – she wanted to see Magic Mike Live and she wanted to go on the Las Vegas High Roller.

Both were fabulous decisions and I would recommend them to anyone who is visiting. In fact, I am supposed to be going back to Vegas this December and already stated we have to do the High Roller again. I am a sucker for tall buildings with amazing views. I insisted we try both Skydeck and Chicago 360 when we visited the windy city, so I was 100% on board with this observation wheel.

About the High Roller

The High Roller is the world’s tallest observation wheel at a height of 550 feet, that offers 360-degree views of The Strip and Las  Vegas Valley. It is located The Linq, a Caesars hotel, pretty close to a central point of the Vegas Strip. This provides for some incredible views of the entire area.

The entire journey is 30 minutes to complete one full rotation inside a glass-enclosed cabin. They can hold up to 40 people at a time and also include benches to sit down as well. However, I doubt you will be doing much sitting since there a lot to see in a short amount of time.

Options for the High Roller

The High Roller can cater to any type of group! The two most common things you will need to decide is the type of cabin and the time of day. You can ride either during the day to view as much as possible while the sun is up. We decided to ride at night so we could see the city lit up with all of the lights. You then have to decide if you would like a happy hour or not. The happy hour is an open bar in your cabin so you can enjoy a cocktail (or multiple) with your views. While 30 minutes might not seem like a lot of time for an open bar, the bartenders are incredibly experienced. This was the fastest I have ever seen drinks made, and made well. We even were given a shot halfway through! Las Vegas is also an open container city, so you can take a drink with you for the road.

Throughout the year, the also offer different experiences, such as Summer BBQ, yoga sessions, or chocolate tastings as well. If you are interested in something a bit different be sure to check out their website for any current events they are offering.

Tickets for the High Roller

Tickets range depending on the time of day, your age, and the happy hour special. Currently, it is $22 for an adult during the day and $32 for an adult at night. With the drink special, it is $35 during the day or $47 at night.

We purchased our tickets through Groupon. The thing I love about Groupon is that they are almost always offering some type of discount code. So your already discounted tickets can be discounted even more. PLUS, you can shop through Ebates or Swagbucks and get cashback as well.

They offer deals for Nevada locals, members of the military, guests over 65, and students. Just so an appropriate ID at the ticket office.

One thing to note about the tickets is that the line can sometimes be a bit of a wait depending on how you purchased them. I recommend getting there with plenty of time to spare. There is a bar while you are waiting so you can enjoy a drink or two before you head up into the sky.

Is the High Roller worth the money?

If you couldn’t tell by my opening sentence I loved it. Even if you are not going for drinks and are just a family visiting it is nice to see The Strip from a different perspective. It is also something truly unique to Las Vegas, so how can you pass that up?
