There is so much to do and see at the party! Some of the entertainment options are:

  • Hallowishes Fireworks, special fireworks show that takes place once a night, only for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
  • Boo To You Parade, what would a celebration at Magic Kingdom be without a parade? Boo To You takes place twice a night and includes your favorite villains, amazing and unique dances, and is one catchy song! Not to mention that it kicks off with the Headless Horseman!
  • Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular – Join the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus for the evening. They ask for help from their spooky Disney villain friends and put a spell on the Magic Kingdom. This usually takes place twice a night at the Castle Forecourt Stage in front of Cinderella Castle.

Can I still go to Magic Kingdom on days when Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is at night?

YES! While I’m not 100% sure this is still true, a lot of the days there are parties in Magic Kingdom at night, you usually get lucky with an emptier park during the daytime. You will be filtered out as the party goes on if you are not here for the party.

How do they know I’m there for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

I know people have tried in the past to get to Magic Kingdom before they start handing out party wristbands and try to stick around for the party. This doesn’t work, at least not 99% of the time. I’m sure you can hideout in a corner without drawing attention to yourself, but then why try to stay for the party?

If you are in Magic Kingdom earlier in the day, around 4pm they start opening stations throughout the park for you to register for the party. Simply have them scan your MagicBand, printed ticket, or ticket card for the party and you will receive a wristband that knows you are one of the party guests.

Can I wear a costume for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

YES! It is Halloween after all! Disney usually has guidelines about adults specifically wearing certain costumes in the parks. However, Halloween that isn’t a hard and fast rule anymore. That isn’t to say there isn’t some guidelines for costumes. Some of the general rules for all guests at the party are:

  • Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or could detract from the experience of other Guests.
  • All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
  • All costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
  • Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
  • Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from, the park unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards.

If you are a guest 13 or under:

  • Costumes and some masks may be worn, as long as the mask does not cover the entire face and eyes are visible.

If you are a guest 14 or older:

  • Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
  • Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (e.g., full-length Princess dresses)
  • Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
  • Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and hats are acceptable.
  • Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords and tutus. Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
  • Masks of any kind may not be worn.

Are rides open during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Yes, but not all. Some have special overlays for the party, some are the standard ride, and others are not open at all. Disney changes this each year, so be sure to check the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guide as we get more information for this event!

Last year they added a special overlay for Space Mountain that was different music, but with all of the lights shut off. The Mad Tea Party also had special music and some lighting effects too!

Can I FastPass rides during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Sadly no. I’m a sucker for fastpass too, but during the party it is all standard queues. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though! A lot of the lines don’t have too long of a wait, but if there is a specific ride you want to go on, I would head there first thing. Especially if it is a ride with an overlay!

Do I have to pay extra to Trick or Treat at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Nope! It is one of the many experiences that are included with your admission.

Someone in my party has a food allergy, can they still Trick or Treat?

Absolutely! Disney does its best to accommodate those with allergies in their restaurants and trick or treating is no different. You can get an allergy-friendly bag (last year it was teal) and go on your way!

Head over to Town Square Theater which is by Tony’s Town Square Restaurant or Liberty Square Ticket Office by the Hall of Presidents to receive your allergy-friendly bag.

As you trick or treat, you will receive teal tokens to collect for allergy-friendly treats. After you have collected your share of tokens, head back to either Town Square Theater or Liberty Square Ticket Office to receive your allergy-friendly treats!

You can ask a cast member for a list of ingredients for each offering or you can even ask for some non-food options as well!

Do I have to dress up to Trick or Treat at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Nope! You don’t have to dress up for the party if you don’t want to and costumes are not required for trick or treating. You’ll be handed a bag to collect your candy from various stations throughout the park.
