Saratoga Springs Resort: 7 Reasons to Stay

1. Proximity to Disney Springs

Disney Springs is often overlooked on a trip to Disney World unfortunately. I made that mistake one of my first trips back to Disney. There is so much to do between restaurants, bars, shopping, and activities. Not to mention Cirque de Soleil will be returning in 2020!

The ability to get to Disney Springs quickly and easily is a giant perk, especially for adults traveling without children. While you could technically walk to Disney Springs from any area, Congress Park is really the only section of Saratoga Springs that you can do so quickly. Also note, when I say technically I mean you could walk it, but it would take an extremely long time. Saratoga Springs is incredibly huge and has an inner bus system that can help get you back to the section of the resort you need to go.

There is a boat that travels to Disney Springs located toward the front of the resort.

2. Availability

Disney Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs has 1,320 rooms, ranging from studios, one-bedroom villas, two-bedroom villas, grand villas, and treehouse villas. Since it is extremely large and is not one of the most popular Disney Vacation Club properties you can frequently find rooms only a few months in advance.

Open availability is important because a lot of families do not book 7-11 months before their vacation, which can be necessary for the more popular Disney Vacation Club resorts. If you want a deluxe stay for a last-minute vacation, you typically find a studio at Saratoga Springs.

Studios for Disney Vacation Club resorts are typically the first rooms to be booked due to their low point cost. So the fact that you can find a studio available at around 2-3 months out, is pretty awesome.

3. Price

Whether you are paying out of pocket or using David’s Disney Vacation Club rental, Saratoga Springs is one of the most inexpensive deluxe resorts. You can rent points for as little as 11 points per night.

Our first stay, we rented points from David’s are got a preferred room in Congress Park for $208 a night. That is around the average nightly price for a moderate resort.

4. Pools – Plural!

The majority of Disney resorts will have multiple pools, with one main themed pool being the draw. Saratoga Springs has five total pools. Two themed ones and three others located in each section of the resort.

The High Rock Springs Pool is located toward the front of the resort in the Springs section. It features a 128-foot long slide, zero-depth entry, waterfalls, and two whirlpool spas. You can also find a Donald Duck play area with a mini waterslide for the little ones. One the Rocks pool bar is located here as well.

The second featured pool is the Paddock Pool. It is located in the Paddock section of the resort. It features a 146-foot long waterslide that begins at the top of a water tower. There is also a whirlpool spa and zero-depth entry. There is a water play area for smaller children that features two smaller waterslides. The Paddock Grill is located here too.

The other three pools are located in the remaining sections of the resort. Treehouse Villas, Congress Park, and The Grandstand all have their own pool. Congress Park and The Grandstand also have children’s playgrounds and grilling areas for guests.

5. Beautiful and Understated Themeing

If people are looking for a resort that has a theme that is so immersive you feel like you haven’t left the parks, this is not that resort. Saratoga Springs Resort is inspired by Saratoga Springs in New York. The design and theme stay true to the real deal.

The resort is quiet and serene and has beautifully maintained grounds. Nothing about the design will smack you in the face like “hey this is Disney” except for the kind service and hidden Mickeys.

6. Perfect for Adults Only Trips

I highly recommend Saratoga Springs for an adults-only trip to Disney World. The combination of availability, proximity to Disney Springs through walkways or a boat, it’s an inexpensive price tag for a deluxe resort, and its many amenities, make it a great option.

The resort itself is huge, which can be a negative for some due to the internal bus system or just the distance to walk to certain areas. However, the fact that the rooms are spread out allows me to not be completely on top of people at all times. You get enough crowds in the park, you don’t need them at the resort.

This does not mean, however, that I don’t believe families would enjoy their stay as well. If your kids are older and a Disney specific theme isn’t important, then Saratoga Springs is a great choice.

If you have a large family or group, I highly recommend staying in one of the treehouses. You can all be together with plenty of space in a unique accommodation location. Plus having your own grill is awesome.

7. Amenities – Senses Spa, Dining, and More!

One of the main reasons to stay at a deluxe resort is to enjoy all of the amenities as activities provided by that resort. Saratoga Springs Resort is no exception.

Your dining options at Saratoga Springs Resort are:

One other unique activity that Saratoga Springs has is its own golf course! The entrance to Lake Buena Vista Golf Course is located at the lower level of the Carriage House lobby.
